INDEPENDENT candidate Catherine Connolly has topped the poll in Donegal.
The Galway woman received 33,286 votes out of the 50,810 votes cast in the county.
Heather Humphreys received 9,316 votes and Jim Gavin received 1,774 votes.

Overall, 6,434 votes cast were spoilt.
