By Tara McCormack

THIS WEEK, Donegal News celebrates the wedding of Catherine Mac Intyre and Paul Murphy, both from Letterkenny, who recently celebrated their big day at the stunning Mount Errigal Hotel.

Their love story is one built on years of friendship, and their wedding day was nothing short of spectacular, filled with heartfelt moments, personal touches, and cherished memories.

The couple chose the recently renovated ballroom of the Mount Errigal Hotel as the backdrop for their special day, and Catherine couldn’t speak highly enough of the experience.

“We had the most magical day! From start to finish, the team at the Mount Errigal was incredibly supportive and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The setting was absolutely stunning, and they went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect.”

The couple gave special thanks to Terry and Conor McEniff for their exceptional service, which helped make the day unforgettable.

“Terry and Conor were amazing and made sure that our wedding day was one of the most memorable days of our lives. The attention to detail and impeccable service is something we are so grateful for!”

Catherine and Paul held their ceremony right at the hotel, making it an easy and convenient day for all their guests.

“We tied the knot in the Mount Errigal itself, with the lovely Leantia Gallagher from Love Lee Weddings as our celebrant,” Catherine shared.

“It was such a special ceremony, and the personal touches that Leantia included really added to the intimate ceremony.”

In addition to the warm and heartfelt ceremony, the couple’s guests were delighted to have the drinks reception close at hand.

Reflecting on their whirlwind of a wedding day, Catherine recalls some of the stand-out moments that made it extra special.

“We had decided to do our first look before the ceremony, and as the weather wasn’t on our side for photos, we got to relax in the beautiful bridal suite before our guests arrived.”

Conor McEniff ensured the bridal party was well looked after, offering them a chance to unwind with a few drinks.

“Paul and I, along with the bridesmaids, got to have a little breather before all the madness began.”

Another standout moment was the ceremony itself. “Leantia had spent so much time getting to know us beforehand that our ceremony was really heartfelt,” Catherine reflected.

The music, provided by their close friends Niamh Roberts and Sinéad Mac Intyre, added a personal and emotional touch that made the ceremony even more unforgettable. “It was a whirlwind of emotions!”

The couple’s love story dates back to their teenage years, where they first met and became close friends before their relationship blossomed and became official in 2017.

Catherine shared: “We can’t remember exactly how we met as we’ve known each other for so long, but we formed a friendship first, which established a great foundation for our love of each other. We’re both delighted to say we got to marry our best friend.”

The day was beautifully captured by photographer Lauren Carroll and content creator, Sociallywedni who made sure no special moment went unnoticed.
