Cathedral Quarter to join Halloween Fest

A HOST of spooky activities for all the family will take place in Letterkenny later this month for the annual Halloween Fest which promises to bigger and better than ever this year.

The town’s Cathedral Quarter committee has announced final details of the upcoming Cathedral Quarter Halloween Fest 2015. Running in association with Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, Letterkenny CDP and Town Team, this year’s Halloween Fest will take place on Saturday, 31st October from 12.30pm to 6.30pm.

Some of the activities on the day will include Trick or Treating, spooky storytelling, a pet parade, Monster Bash by Letterkenny CDP and a Haunted House tour in Cara House. To finish the Halloween Fest there will be a Cathedral Quarter Halloween Fancy Dress concert in the Market Square from 4.30pm – 6.30pm featuring a number of talented local acts.

Earlier this week, the Cathedral Quarter committee launched a ‘Pumpkin Carving Contest’. The competition is open to all members of the public, local schools and businesses with some great prizes to be won. All pumpkins will be candle lit and on display in the Market Square for the Halloween Fest and the winner will be announced on Saturday, 31st October. Entries must be submitted to No.4 Church Lane no later than 4pm on Friday, 30th October.

Commenting on this year’s Cathedral Quarter Halloween Fest 2015, Cathedral Quarter secretary, Donnan Harvery, said: “We’re really looking forward to the Cathedral Quarter Halloween Fest. It’s going to be a spectacular event for all the family with lots of fun activities and a big fancy dress concert. We’d like to thank local businesses and the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, Letterkenny CDP and Town Team for coming on board and supporting this event.

We promise everyone in attendance a BOO-tifully frightful Halloween night in one of the oldest and most historic parts of our town.”
