Donegal teams take three titles


The journey to Magherafelt began early for Donegal athletes last Thursday as the first group left Donegal town at 7.30am with pickups in Ballybofey, Letterkenny and Inishowen on the way to the Ulster finals.


Season’s best for McBrearty


Letterkenny’s Darren McBrearty ran a season’s best of 3:44.11 when placing third in a special senior Indoor 1,500m at AIT held to facilitate athletes chasing qualifying standards. John Travers of Donore Harriers took victory in 3:43.53 with Conor Bradley from City of Derry second in 3:44.07.

THE very picturesque parkland course in Rosstrevor Co. Down provided an idyllic setting for the Ulster even age cross country championships on Saturday and with qualification for the AAI finals (Rathoath Co. Meath) at stake.
