Ian Smith launches new album


THREE years in the making this eagerly awaited album features no less than 9 original songs among the 12 tracks. With five of the songs having definite Donegal stories to them along with a few Scottish themed songs, it has a real “Celtic Connection” and feel to it.


Work to resume on new emegency department next week


WORK on the new €22 million, 72-bed medical unit and emergency department at Letterkenny General Hospital recommences on Monday with the new facility expected to open in March.

Minister of State for Health Kathleen Lynch TD is due in Letterkenny on Monday week to officially open the hospital’s new €5.9 million Psychiatric Unit and she is expected to formally announce the opening date for the new A&E facility.

Boyle case adjourned


A LETTERKENNY man who was arrested following a stabbing incident outside Voodoo nightclub, Main Street on August 14 was remanded on continuing bail at yesterday, Thursday’s sitting of the Letterkenny District Court.
