THE long-standing issue of GAA club boundaries is set to reach a political forum with the Letterkenny Town Council to debate the matter at its monthly meeting on Monday night.
The Donegal News has learned that a motion from Fianna Fáil Councillor Tadgh Culbert will go before the meeting at the Public Services Centre.

Tax defaulters pay almost €1 million
SIX tax defaulters in Donegal made settlements totalling just under €1 million with the Revenue Commissioners in the three month period from April to June this year.
The largest settlement in the county was made by a Killybegs launderette owner, William Cunningham of Bridge Street who made a settlement of €262,390. It resulted from an underdeclaration of Income Tax and VAT discovered in a Revenue Single Premium Insurance Products Case and an Offshore Assets Investigation Case.

Memorial for infants in Burt
Members of the Burt community will come together later this week to discuss plans to establish a permanent memorial to infants who had not been baptised and were therefore buried in an unconsecrated plot outside the main cemetery. Over the years the local cemetery has been extended incorporating the plot within the present boundaries.
NCT Failure rate almost 50%
THE NCT car test in Donegal was criticised this week by Deputy Charlie McConalogue after its annual report revealed that just under half (48%) of the vehicles tested in the county failed.
A total of 30,782 tests were conducted in Donegal in 2010, with 16,028 passes (52%), although both Letterkenny and Carndonagh recorded below average pass rates.
