Church Lane 'Ghetto'

BY CATHERINE COOK
THE owner of a long-established bakery and cafe in Letterkenny has moved to allay local speculation that the popular eatery is closing.

“Effectively the Town Council have allowed the Church Lane to turn into a ghetto and a location for people to drink and take drugs. The buildings up here are in a complete state of disrepair.”

Mr Keeney said that despite numerous promises, what should be one of the nicest streets in the town has been totally ignored among other efforts to regenerate the town centre.
