DRIVERS are being urged to ensure their vehicle is always locked following the theft of a number of items including a sum of cash and a handbag from St Conal’s Hospital car park.
A suede mustard coloured River Island Handbag, a black River Island purse, a small amount of cash and bank cards/drivers licence were stolen from a parked car at the old site of the Covid testing centre on Kilmacrennan Road on Tuesday, December 9. The theft occurred between 8.30am and 9am.
No damage was caused to the car.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who has a dash cam to make the footage available to them.
Anyone wo observed any suspicious activity is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on (074) 9167100. If anyone was in the area of the Kilmacrennan Road or the car park in question itself with a dash-cam that morning, please get in touch with us also.
A garda spokesperson said: “We wish to remind drivers to always ensure that their vehicle is locked regardless of whether it is parked at home or in a public place. Do not leave valuables in your car. Should you ever observe suspicious activity around parked cars when out and about, please alert gardaí immediately.”
