THE case against a Lifford man charged with two counts of assault has been adjourned until next month.
Seamus Cooley (50), 6a St Jude’s Court, Lifford, appeared before Letterkenny District Court on Monday via videolink.
Cooley is charged with Section 2 assault at Murlog, Lifford. The alleged offence occurred on May 27, 2023. Cooley is also charged with Section 3 assault at Oakfield Demense, Raphoe, on July 5, 2023. Cooley is not in custody on these charges, he is in custody on other charges.
Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were not yet available, and he sought a short adjournment.
The matter was adjourned until November 17, 2025 to allow for DPP directions. Legal aid was granted by Judge Monika Leech to solicitor Conor Moylan.
