LOCAL people in Carrigart were delighted to learn that it is the son of a deceased local woman who won the €2.26 million in Saturday night’s Lotto, having shared the €4.5 million prize with someone in Kerry.
According to local Centra owner Shaun Boyce, who sold the winning ticket, the man who bought it did so on Saturday morning.
Speaking to the Donegal News Mr Boyce said the winner, who lives outside London was home for a wedding.
“He and the groom came into the shop around 9am on Saturday morning and he bought a quick pick. His late mother is from Carrigart and he regularly returns to the family home.
“I spoke briefly with him to congratulate him and he wishes to remain anonymous which we must respect. I wish him the very best and hope he enjoys his windfall,” Mr Boyce added.
