Carr expects tight match in Clones

IT has been a hectic six weeks for the Donegal senior footballers so a break in the schedule was most welcome last weekend.

It was an opportunity for injured players to try and make up some lost ground, and for others to rest and ready their bodies.

With DCU losing out in the Sigerson Cup last Wednesday, the third-level tug-of-war is now at an end, and Donegal will have had good numbers at training this week and less distractions.

There has been plenty to work on as well as Donegal look to get back on track following a 0-16 to 0-8 defeat against Tyrone in Omagh.

There’s no shame in losing to the Red Hands, but it was the meek performance which left supporters underwhelmed as they exited the turnstiles.

There has been a fortnight to assess that poor showing and to try and put things right before another big Ulster contest against Monaghan this Sunday.

“It’s been a good break and we have tried to use it as best as we can,” Carr told the Donegal News
