CAROLINE McHugh has been appointed the new principal of Loreto Secondary School in Letterkenny.
She takes over from Gerardine Mullen who announced her retirement in March.
Ms McHugh joined the staff at Loreto eight years ago as Deputy Principal.
Ms Mullen today confirmed her appointment as principal and offered Ms McHugh her congratulations.
“Personally, I am absolutely delighted, and on behalf of all of us, I want to wish her every blessing and good wish as she takes over as principal of Loreto Secondary School, Letterkenny,” she said.
“As we all know, Ms McHugh has contributed enormously to the school since she arrived here from Dublin eight years ago.
“Congratulations, Ms McHugh, from all of us, your dear friends, colleagues and students.”
Gerardine Mullen had been principal at Loreto since May 2019 having been acting principal for a short time following the sad passing of former principal Nora Friel.
