Scoil Naomh Cholmcille in Craigtown, Carndonagh has received approval for an extension by the Department of Education.
The extension comprises a mainstream classroom what will be provided under the Modular Framework Programme.
Welcoming the announcement, Donegal minister, Charlie McConalogue thanked the Minister for Education, Norma Foley and her team of officials for their help and assistance in the school getting approval for an extra classroom.
“This is excellent news for the pupils and staff at the school. This is also the latest in a number of approvals given by the Department of Education to schools to extend their current capacity,” the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine said.
“Fianna Fáil in government continues to be committed to an education system that meets the needs of all pupils. I look forward to the new classroom being in place at Craigtown National School as soon as possible,” Minister McConalogue added.
