Carndonagh 1-14 St Mary’s, Convoy 1-8
A strong and commanding display helped Carndonagh to victory over St Mary’s, Convoy in the Junior ‘B’ Championship Final in O’Donnell Park this afternoon.
Callum Kelly (Carn) and Daithi Gordon swapped points early on before Odhran O’Donnell struck two points for the Inishowen side.
Gordon and John Callan kicked neat efforts for Convoy and they were level by 26th minute.
Carn struck the final four points of the first half from Senan Grant, Davin McLaughlin, Callum Kelly, and Michael McCarron.
Carndonagh led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time and Grant pushed them five ahead 14 seconds after the restart.
Michael Patton replied with a brilliant two-pointer for Convoy, and Gordon tagged on a free.
John A Kee then registered a two-point free to level matters in the 36th minute.
Christy McDaid responded with a point for Carn before Darragh McCormick’s shot dropped into the net.
Kelly, Davin McLaughlin and Christy McDaid added points to put Carn seven points clear.
Rory Craig pulled a goal back for St Mary’s after good play from John A Kee.
However, that was just a consolation score as late efforts from McDaid and Callum Kelly made sure of Carn’s win.
