Carla takes up Gaelic Football with Termon

Carla Hernando, a young woman from Bilbao, Spain, has made headlines in Ireland after joining the Termon GAA Club to play Gaelic football. Her journey began as an opportunity to learn English, but she soon found herself immersed in a new culture and a new sport.

Carla lives with a local family in Donegal and attends Loreto Community School in Milford.

As she settled into life in Ireland, she became fascinated by the local culture, including the sport of Gaelic football. She previously played basketball back in Spain, but she had never heard of this unique Irish sport before.

Despite her lack of experience, Carla was determined to try her hand at Gaelic football. She joined the Termon GAA Club, and it wasn’t long before her natural athleticism and competitive spirit caught the attention of her teammates and coaches.

She lined out in an Under 16 challenge game against Letterkenny Gaels on Sunday.

According to team manager Brian Trearty, Carla has become a valued member of the team. “She’s a great athlete and a quick learner.”
