Carl McHugh joins Sligo Rovers for the 2026 campaign

Carl McHugh has been announced as Sligo Rovers’ latest signing for next season, joining the club on a two-year deal.

The Lettermacaward native has spent the last six years playing in India for ISL sides ATK, Mohun Bagan and FC Goa before departing in the summer.

Prior to his time in India, McHugh had spells at in Scotland with Motherwell as well as England where he took to the field for Bradford City, Plymouth Argyle and Reading FC, where he began his career at 16-years-old.

He becomes John Russell’s second new recruit following their signing of Archie Meekison from Bohemians last week.

McHugh, who has experience of playing in both defence and midfield, will certainly contribute dearly to the Showgrounds residents in the upcoming campaign.
