Car seized: Tax was out for 1,390 days

Gardaí are urging motorists to make sure all their vehicle’s documentation is up to date and properly displayed.

It comes after Gardai seized a car in the Ballybofey area in the early hours of this morning after it was established through the use of the active mobility app that the tax had expired 1,390 days ago.

Gardai say there was nothing displayed on the windscreen so Gardaí will now make further enquiries in relation to the insurance and NCT on the car.

“Please do not take to the roads unless your documentation is up to date and displayed as required,” a Garda spokesperson said.
