Car passenger assaulted after refusing to give lift

A CAR passenger was assaulted after refusing two men a lift.

Gardaí are investigating the alleged assault at Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, in the early hours of Saturday, December 20, at approximately 3.30am.

Two men were sitting in a parked car at that location when a man approached the car and requested a lift. When denied a lift, the man proceeded to assault the passenger of the car.

The injured man attended Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment for non-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for dash-cam footage.

“We appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have travelled at that location with a dash-cam around that time to get in touch with us in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100.”
