Winning a League crown is one thing, an impressive feat no doubt but to win that title in consecutive seasons is an achievement that no side has been able to boast over the last decade in the Donegal League.
Kilmacrennan Celtic were the last side to successfully defend their crown. Fanad United can now add their name to that list of clubs and captain Patrick McGinley noted that prior to this season kicking off, their objective was simple.
“From this time last year when we won it, our mindset was to go again,” he said.
“We’ve had a number of injuries this year but thankfully we have a big squad and some young players playing in the development team.”
