Heimir Hallgrímsson has announced his squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Finland and England.
The squad sees the return of Killybegs man Seamus Coleman, the captain of the team.
The veteran has played 73 times for his country to date, scoring once in that time.
An injury that Coleman picked up against England in the reverse fixture in September kept him out of the October squad for the games against Finland and Greece.
His experience in international football will be highly-valued by Heimir and assistant John O’Shea.
It will be quite the boost for the team to have their captain back and hopefully he can help some of the younger lads get settled in and help towards getting positives results from these games.
The 36 year-old hasn’t played for his club since the game against England so it remains to be seen if he will start these games.
Ireland take on Finland at the Aviva next Thursday, November 14 at 7.45pm.
The Boys in Green travel to Wembley to take on England at 5pm on Sunday, November 17.
