Letterkenny Gaels clubman Oisin Cannon has confirmed that he will be allowing his name to go forward for the role of PRO at the County Convention.
Cannon previously went for the role before in 2013 but lost out by two votes to Ed Byrne.
He has been nominated for the role again and confirmed to the Donegal News that his name will be in the hat.
Cannon has previously been involved with Donegal and helped to manage their social medial channels. He was also part of Declan Bonner’s backroom team at minor and Under 21 level, and worked with the senior panel for a period as well.
His father, Charlie, served as PRO in 2003 and 2004, while he double-jobbed as PRO while county treasurer in 2005.
There is expected to be a lively contest for the post of PRO which is in contrast with 2018 when there were no nominees.
Sinead Breen of St Mary’s, Convoy and Fiona Shiels (Gaeil Fhánada) have already announced their intentions to go for the PRO post.
Current PRO John McEniff was also nominated but he won’t be allowing his name to go forward.
The Bundoran clubman who has been in the role for nearly four years, has indicated that he would be stepping down.
The Donegal County convention will be held in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny on Wednesday, December 14 and Letterkenny Gaels will be the host club this year.
