Campervan caught fire outside graveyard

THE driver of a campervan escaped injury after his vehicle caught fire outside Leck Graveyard in Letterkenny this morning. Letterkenny Fire Brigade were alerted at 10.37 am and attended the scene along with local Gardai. 

A spokesperson for the Fire Service said: “Letterkenny Fire Brigade DL11 were mobilized at 10:37 to a Vehicle Fire in close proximity of Leck Graveyard. Two Class B fire appliances responded to the incident. Upon arrival the vehicle was identified as a  motorhome/campervan that had caught fire. The driver of the vehicle was out of the vehicle and did not require medical assistance. The brigade extinguished the fire and made the vehicle safe. The Gardai and Roads dept were also in attendance at the incident. There are currently no road diversions in place.”
