Calls to secure former factory after blaze

A FRESH call has been made to secure a site on the Pearse Road in Letterkenny after emergency services tackled a fire in the area on Friday.

It is understood the blaze broke out at approximately 5.30am at what is known locally as the Old Bacon Factory.

This incident comes just months after the Donegal News was contacted by a concerned parent, who claimed they witnessed up to 100 “youngsters” visiting the site which they described as a “drug den”.
