Ballybofey United Reserves 1 Ramelton Mariners 1
A stoppage time equaliser from Shay Callan-McFadden crowned Ramelton Mariners as champions of Saturday Division 2 while also all but relegating Ballybofey United at Dreenan.
A miscommunication at the back from the away side gifted Kieran Thompson the opening goal of the game just before the break.
Ballybofey almost made it 2-0 when Mark Griffin hit the bar but the Mariners put pressure on late in the game and it paid off as Callan-McFadden poked home after Brandon Wilkie’s cross.
It was a massive game at both ends of the table, with Ramelton needing just a point to win the league but a loss would have taken it to the last day with their title rivals Drumbar United.
Ballybofey however were desperate for a win to keep their hopes of finishing in the promotion/relegation play-offs alive, but now have a mountain to climb to do so.
