A CALL has been made to re-ignite community alert and neighbourhood watch schemes around the county.
Raising the matter at a meeting of the recently established Donegal Local Community Safety Partnership, Joe Boland, Donegal Public Partnership Network, recalled that they had been very successful in the past.

“There were 39 groups in the county, now there are four or five active,” he claimed.
Conscious of an increase in break-ins and robberies over a recent period of time, he felt the community alerts and neighbourhood watch schemes could be looked at again.
