A CALL for the resurfacing and lining of viewing points “on the most scenic route in the municipal district” has been made by Councillor Declan Meehan.
Bringing forward a motion at the March meeting of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District Council, he pointed out that lay-bys have got into a very bad condition on the Knockalla Coast Road.
In particular, he was concerned about the lay-bys and viewing points from Scraggy Bay to the beach, as well as the car park beside the public toilets at Warden.
Responding, David McIlwaine, Senior Executive Engineer (Roads), said that an assessment will be carried out and a Minor Tourism funding application will be prepared and presented to councillors. However, this will not be until later in the year.
