SINCE Tuesday night, Leslie Long and Kathleen Ruddy’s musical, Caisleáin Óir, has been drawing record crowds to An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny.

Based on Donegal author Seamus Ó Grianna’s famous novel, this large-scale musical adaptation features a cast of 60 performers.

It is directed by local woman, Phil Dalton, and the lead roles are played by Catriona Doherty from Carndonagh and Chris McLaughlin from Ballybofey.

Speaking to the Donegal News yesterday, theatre director Patricia McBride said there are only a handful of tickets left for the remaining performances of this “wonderful production.”

“It is also a great showcase of local talent as all of the cast are from Donegal and this is a completely community-based production,” she said.

A small number of tickets are available for Thursday and Friday night’s shows at 8pm as well as Saturday’s matinee performance at 2.30pm.
