Busy weekend for the Tidy Towns volunteers

LETTERKENNY Tidy Towns volunteers were busy on Sunday when they collected 18 bags of litter from around the town.

The cosmopolitan group of volunteers were missing their Ukrainian members on Sunday as they were celebrating their traditional Easter festival.

Organiser Neil Brockley thanked all of the volunteers for their great work and encouraged anyone who wanted to help to come and join them.

Last weekend was the Ukrainian Easter and volunteer Neil Brockley said they really missed their Ukrainian volunteers on Sunday’s litter pick.

“We are looking to get back to our normal routine for summer next week. If anyone would like to join us we will be at the Market Square on Sundays from midday and pick litter at various locations until 1 pm. All are welcome.

“We are looking forward to some of the students from Loreto Secondary School joining us again to help with the litter picking,” he said.
