Businesses urged to be vigilant over fake bank notes

BUSINESS owners in Donegal are being urged to be vigilant following the emergence of fake bank notes in circulation.

Gardaí hgave said there are fake £20 sterling notes circulating at present.

A garda spokesperson said: “The notes are of very good quality and the serial number on them ends in 257. Business owners should ensure that their staff are aware of the dud notes that are circulating at present but also ensure that they are in the habit of checking all notes thoroughly at the points of payment.”
