THREE people have been taken to hospital after a bus crashed into a field in Manorcunningham this morning.
The Bus Éireann Expressway coach, which was operating Route 64, Sligo to Derry, veered off the road shortly after 10am this morning following a collision with a car.
A number of passengers were on board when the collision took place between Magherabeg National School and the Swilly Inn.
A garda spokesperson said: “Three people have been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital as a precaution.”
The road remains closed at this time and local diversions are currently in place.
Meanwhile, a Bus Éireann spokesperson said local emergency services and Bus Éireann personnel are in attendance at the scene and providing all necessary support.
“The collision will be investigated in line with our normal procedures,” a spokesperson said.
“The safety of our passengers, staff and the public is of paramount importance to Bus Éireann.
“We would like to thank An Garda Síochána and the emergency services for their swift response to the incident.”
