Buncrana tragedy: Funerals to take place on Thursday

OFFICIAL  funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Sean, Mark and Evan McGrotty and Ruth and Jodie-Lee Daniels who drowned tragically in Lough Swilly on Sunday night.

The funerals will leave the family home, 120 St. Eithne’s Park, on Holy Thursday at 1.15pm for 2 O’Clock service in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty. Interment will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Deeply regretted by Sean’s partner and Ruth’s daughter, Louise, baby Rioghnach-Ann and Ruth’s sons Nathan, Johnathan, Kyle and Joshua.
Family flowers only please. If wished, donations in lieu of flowers to Muscular Dystrophy UK (Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund), c/o Ms. Cathryn Gibson, 29 Cranmore Park, Belfast BT9 6JF.nSacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on their souls.

Meanwhile, a fund-raising page for the victims of the Buncrana Pier tragedy has been set up while donations of items for baby Rioghnach-Ann, the only survivor of Sunday’s drowning tragedy will be collected in Buncrana tonight.

Local woman Michelle Black has organsed the collection of items for the four-month-old baby who is said to be “doing well” in Letterkenny Universtiy Hospital. They can be dropped off at the Plaza, Buncrana from 6.30pm this evening (Monday).
 
In addition, money can be donated at Buncrana credit union, account number 23688 and for details of how to donate at other Credit Unions, Michelle can be contacted via facebook at Buncrana Tragedy Fundraising.
