Buncrana hurlers create history with first IHC title

Buncrana took their first senior hurling county title with a two point win over Inishowen neighbours Carndonagh in O’Donnell Park.

Tommy O’Neill’s men were 0-7 to 0-6 down at the break and it got even worse a minute into the second half as Cathal Doherty found the net.

But the then hit six scores in-a-row, with through Oisn Grant, Conor Grant, Dylan Duffy and three from Caolan O’Neill as they went ahead by two and never were caught again, with Sam Doherty hitting their last two scores to keep their opponents at arm’s length and create history for the Scarvey men.
