BUMBLEance fundraiser in Orchard Inn tonight

Tonight at 8pm everyone is welcome to come along to the Orchard Inn Letterkenny to meet Donegal Rose, Zoe McGettigan, before she heads off to the Rose of Tralee International Festival representing County Donegal.

Enjoy a good night of fun with host,  Lee Gooch,  and a fun ‘Mr & Mrs’ competition in aid of BUMBLEance. This fundraiser is in memory of  little Jack Crossan,  who sadly lost his brave battle with Mitochondrial disease last month.

A spokesperson for the charity said: BUMBLEance, the children’s national ambulance service reaches into every town, city and county in Ireland, delivering safe and comfortable transportation of sick children to and from children’s hospitals, national treatment centres, respite and hospice centres.

“We are currently fundraising for our newest, exciting, regionally based project, BUMBLEettes! and the first launched will be located in the North West

“BUMBLEettes will provide a full transportation shuttle service for sick children who are in need of vital transportation and assistance but who do not require a paramedic or EMT on board. Our BUMBLEettes will be rolled out regionally and they will transport Ireland’s critically ill children to and from their homes to hospitals, respite and hospice care centres across Ireland.

“Most importantly, BUMBLEettes will help us to provide even more assistance to an even greater number of sick children in Ireland at a local level.”

This year the Rose of Tralee International Festival is celebrating 57 years and all 65 Roses are going to enjoy the fun of the festival, attending various engagements, individual and group interviews then taking part in a qualifying selection which is also presented by Daithi O Se in the Dome.

There are two judging panels and from these selections 32 Roses will be chosen to proceed to the television selection nights on 22nd and 23rd August. The 2016 Rose of Tralee will get to wear the brand new crown for the first time designed by the lead sponsor Tipperary Crystal. Our Donegal Rose Zoe McGettigan will be interviewed in the Dome on stage with Daithi O Se on Thursday, August 18.

Zoe McGettigan, (24) is a preschool and Montessori teacher, who plans to complete a master’s degree. Exercise is her stress relief .

She said: “I love my job  – it makes me so proud seeing my little kids growing and learning ”
