Brogan relishes underdog tag for FAI Cup

Bonagee United Ladies will be welcomed into the Showgrounds this Sunday afternoon as they take on Sligo Rovers Ladies in the FAI Women’s Cup First Round.

Chris McNulty’s side experienced this competition for the first time last year but were bested by Cork City down at Turner’s Cross Stadium.

Another impressive run in the Women’s Amateur Cup – finishing as Runners-up – has given them a second serving and Captain Ciana Brogan is keen to cause an upset.

“I think we’re the underdogs,” she said.

“I think last year, being our first time in it, we were a bit naive in some ways.”
