VOTERS are continuing to stream to polling stations across Donegal this afternoon to decide on the future of the eighth amendment.
In Letterkenny the 4pm count at three town stations revealed an average turn out of just over 30 per-cent.
Using previous elections as a guide, that suggests the overall turn out will be between 50 and 60 per-cent however the good weather could drive that figure up.
Polling station officials say today’s figures are higher than in previous years for the time of day and that they expect to see a spurt in voters after 6pm.
Ballot boxes close at 10pm with counting due to commence at 9am tomorrow.
