Brilliant Donegal defeat Monaghan in Omagh.

Donegal will be second seeds in Monday’s Preliminary quarter-final draw after they pulled off a brilliant win over Monaghan in Omagh this evening.

Donegal had the breeze in the first half and they played some great football.

Daire Ó Baoill and Ciaran Thompson both scored three points apiece as Donegal opened up a 0-13 to 0-9 lead at the break.

Donegal had a good third quarter and moved six points ahead with Oisin Gallen scoring a trio of points.

Monaghan came back strongly and got their deficit back to three points.

Donegal went 16 minutes without a score before Jamie Brennan scored a free.

Shaun Patton kicked a monster score but Monaghan kept coming back for more.

However, Aidan O’Rourke’s men held on to grab the valuable win.
