Burt 3-16 Setanta 1-18
Burt battled with 14 men to take their first Senior Hurling Championship title since 2018 as they beat Setanta in O’Donnell Park.
The Inishowen men started strong and went into an 0-7 to 0-1 lead after 13 minutes, but Setanta hit back.
However, three goals in the last five minutes saw this game to and fro, first as Kevin Curran put his side 1-9 to 0-7 ahead before Josh Cronolly McGee hit the net at the other end and instantly after Burt responded through Liam McKinney who finished with 1-10.
Setanta tried to mount a comeback as Caolan McDermott got sent off for Burt but Dara Grant’s goal put them back in control and they won well.
It’s a 40th Donegal title for the Burt side and they will go into the Ulster Intermediate Championship later this autumn.
