Brett McGinty eyes title fights in near future

Brett McGinty is hoping that one of his next fights at the National Stadium can be for an Irish title, insisting that’s what people want to see.

The St Johnston boxer defeated Patrik Fiala by a points win of 58-56 in Dublin on Saturday and is looking towards the future already.

McGinty said after the fight: “These are the kind of shows you want domestic titles on, Irish shows with Irish fighters, unbeaten prospects. Prospects fighting each other for Celtic titles and Irish titles, they’re the fights people want to see.”
