A BRIGHT sunny day on Friday, July 19 saw the grand opening of the new Brennans Pharmacy Letterkenny in the Forte Retail Park.
Brennans is conveniently located just across from Costa in the new Dunnes Stores car park with over 650 free parking spaces.
The Brennans Pharmacy team were joined in store by John Breslin and crew from Highland radio for the broadcast of John’s afternoon show.
Claire McDonough, President of Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, was on hand to help Fergus and Mairead Brennan cut the ribbon, flanked by the Brennans Letterkenny team – supervising pharmacist Colleen Quigley, store manager Scott Duncan, retail supervisor Clare O Donnell, healthcare advisor Ashley Kelly, retail co-ordinator Paul McMullan and pharmacy assistant Matt O’Rourke.
Customers had a very positive reaction to the bright, spacious modern design of the new Pharmacy.
There was great interest in Brennans unique ranges of skincare, wellness, vitamins, supplements and gifts.
There were nutritional and skin care experts instore giving advice, product demonstrations and free samples of vitamins, supplements and wellness products.
Every customer was entered into a draw for a huge range of giveaways with the lucky winners being contacted to collect their prizes in the days after the event.
There were three Brennans pharmacists on hand to offer blood pressure and health checks throughout the day.
John Breslin interviewed Fergus Brennan and Colleen Quigley live on the air.
Fergus explained that he’s a native of Donegal town who returned to the county after college to complete his pre-registration training in Letterkenny General Hospital and Raphoe Pharmacy, opening his first pharmacy in Buncrana in 1992.
He went on to open Brennans pharmacy in Clonmany in 2006 and another branch in Creeslough in 2017.
Fergus thanked Brennans customers and the communities of Buncrana, Clonmany and Creeslough for their continued support.
Having lived and worked in county Donegal for over 30 years he described how delighted he is that Brennans Pharmacy has the opportunity to serve the community of his hometown of Letterkenny, where he and his wife Mairead have settled and reared their four children.
Colleen shared with John that she is a proud Letterkenny woman who has been working in the town as a community pharmacist for the last 14 years.
She also wished her colleague Clare O Donnell, another young local lady, all the best in the Mary from Dungloe Festival, where Clare is representing Donegal as our Donegal Mary.

At the end of their Highland Radio interview, Colleen and Fergus thanked everyone who had already called to the new pharmacy for their support for a locally owned business.
They look forward to welcoming new patients and customers to the pharmacy in the Retail Park.
Brennans Letterkenny is open from 9am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday.
