Brendan McLaughlin strikes late point for Malin

Malin snatched victory from the jaws of defeat thanks to an injury time point from Brendan McLaughlin as they defeated Buncrana in Foden on Sunday.

Michael Byrne’s side led 0-5 to 0-3 at the break thanks to a couple of points from Christy McLaughlin and Sean O’Neill, but they had a strong wide advantage in the opening half.

And Buncrana came back at them thanks to a trio of points from Peter McLaughlin, while Dylan Mulholland put the Scarvey men 0-10 to 0-9 ahead with five minutes to go.

But into the fifth minute of stoppage time, substitute Terence Doherty levelled the game and as Malin won the kick out, Brendan McLaughlin broke forward and curled over the winning point.
