The special guest was Letterkenny native Ciara Doherty, presenter of the Tonight Show on Virgin Media.

The committee say the Ball, held in the Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny, proved an overwhelming success.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support, contributions, and dedication to raising awareness for this significant cause,” a spokesperson for the committee said.

“Breast cancer has left its mark on the lives of nearly everyone, and as a small committee, our aim is to make a positive impact on those affected by this challenging journey. None of our efforts would have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of numerous individuals.

“The 2023 Ball surpassed all expectations, raising an impressive €15,081.

“The committee is extremely touched by the incredible kindness and goodwill we have encountered from the early planning stages to the end result.

“We were honoured to have Ciara Doherty, presenter of The Tonight Show on Virgin Media, and a native of Donegal, as our guest speaker.

Despite her demanding schedule and with a young family at home, Ciara, accompanied by her mother Kate, graciously took the time to join us.

“She was compassionate and articulate and entertained our guests throughout the evening. Renowned consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon

Mr. Peter Barry, our esteemed medical guest, shared valuable insights about breast cancer and generously praised Breast Centre North West.

“We hope to have him back in Letterkenny soon as promised.”

The committee also thanked those who contributed prizes and support on the night, including host Noel Cunningham, who wonce again showcased his magnificence.

“Funds raised will support research at Breast Centre North West, enhance patient comfort at the clinic, and contribute to community care initiatives, including an outreach programme for those recovering from breast cancer,” the committee spokesperson added.

“Whether you are considering having a family/group gathering next year or planning a Christmas staff party, we encourage you to mark your calendars for the 2024 Ball.

“Save the date – Friday, December 6, 2024. You won’t be disappointed. It truly is a community effort and the 2023 Ball deserves a standing ovation for everyone involved.”
