A search is currently underway for a missing person who is understood to have entered the water in Gaoth Dobhair.
Emergency services were tasked to the scene following a call out at 11am this morning.
Sligo 118 Rescue Helicopter has been deployed, and gardaí and ambulance crews are also currently attending the scene.
It is understood the person was carrying out repair works on a bridge when the incident occurred.
A spokesperson for Malin Head Coast Guard Station said: “We have reason to believe the person entered the water. A search is currently underway.”
