GARDAI are investigating a shooting incident in the Glenswilly area.
A farmer in his early 40’s has sustained shotgun injuries to his face and shoulder following the early morning incident.
A firearm was discharged during a dispute between two farmers in the area.
The injured man was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital and is being brought to Galway University Hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
Another man, who was along with the victim, managed to flee from the scene.
The area around the incident – not far from Glenswilly chapel – has been sealed off by local gardaí.
One man is believed to be helping gardai with their enquiries.
There are local reports the row centres adround a right of way land dispute.
