BREAKING: Glenfin Road crash claims life of young man

A TEENAGER from Greenhills, Raphoe died in a two-car crash this morning in which his twin sister was injured.

Shane Brolly (18) suffered fatal injuries when two cars collided on the Glenfin Road, near Ballybofey at around 3.30 am.

There was one female driver in her early 40s in one car, and four people – a woman and three men aged from their teens to their 40s in the second.

All of the injured were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where Mr Brolly was later pronounced dead.

Inspector Michael Harrison confirmed to the Donegal News that the injuries sustained by the other people involved are not life threatening.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place this morning.

It is expected the road will re-open in the afternoon.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who was in the Glenfin Road area at the time to contact Ballybofey on 074 9137740 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
