A CARNDONAGH man charged with the murder of his parents will stand trial in Dublin Central Criminal Court next Monday.
Julian Cuddihy, aged in his forties, appeared before Letterkenny District Court this morning for a brief remand hearing, where he was presented with the Book of Evidence.
Mr Cuddihy was dressed in a blue shirt and tie, with a pair of grey trousers and a navy jacket.
He is charged with murdering his parents at their home in Churchtown on the outskirts of Carndonagh in October 2014.
Mrs Kathleen Cuddihy (73) was a former nurse, originally from Malin Head. She was known throughout Donegal for her voluntary work especially with Letterkenny General Hospital. Her husband, Jimmy (77) was originally from Kilkenny, but had moved to Donegal to work many decades ago. He was a former maths teacher at Carndonagh Community School and still gave maths grinds to local pupils in the area.
The trial begins on Monday, January 25 at 10.30am.
