THE funeral of Rocco McGinley will be held in Buncrana this morning.
Rocco passed away on Tuesday morning surrounded by his family. His funeral is to take place this morning (Friday) with requiem Mass at St Mary’s Oratory in Buncrana at 10am followed by burial in Cockhill cemetery.
Rocco (15) from Buncrana and a pupil of Scoil Mhuire, touched the hearts of the entire county with his brave two year battle against an extremely rare brain tumour.
His journey sparked a major community fundraiser ‘Roccos Road to Recovery’ and he attended a hospital in Texas, US for specialised medical treatment.
He is survived by his mother Yvonne and father Wade McGinley, siblings Warren, Jordan, Dean, Cooper, Winter Lily, Arya and Bodhi, grandparents Carl and Anna McGinley and Mary Hegarty
