'Brand new' 1970s gear for charity sale

BY CRONAN SCANLON
A BALLYBOFEY charity shop has received an unexpected donation of hundreds of brand new household and other items from the 1970s.

An anonymous businessman kindly gave the Aladdin’s Cave of collectable items to the ‘House of Books’ shop in Ballybofey on condition that all proceeds would go to charity.

As a result of the unexpected windfall, shop manager Mr Danny McIntyre has organised an emergency sale which starts tomorrow (Saturday).

All proceeds will go to ‘Fighting Blindness’ which funds world-leading research into treatments and cures for blindness.

Speaking to the Donegal News this week, Danny said all items are “modestly priced to sell” as he needs space to move in some more second-hand books.
