Donegal defender Caolan Ward was pleased to claim the bragging rights on Sunday as his team saw off Monaghan in St Tiernach’s Park.
Ward is based in the Farney county and works for Declan Brennan Sports Management, which is a Centre of Excellence for high performance athletes.
The St Eunan’s clubman will have a smile on his face as he heads for work this morning, but more importantly, he was glad that his side produced an emphatic response to their defeat against Fermanagh.
“I suppose when you look back to Wednesday night – we got a reaction,” said Ward, after the match with Monaghan.
“It was a big enough score to give away but in the grand scheme of things to put in a performance like that and come away with two points is very pleasing.
“Obviously we have things to work on but the players on the field did their bit, so you have to be positive looking forward to another competitive game on Wednesday night.”
