Declan Boyle, winner back in 2014, leads the Joule Donegal International Rally after three stages.

The Leitir man, who has his cousin Brian sitting alongside him in their Fiesta WRC, is one and half seconds ahead of Frosses man Donagh Kelly in his Focus WRC with Donal Barrett third.

The big story in the opening loop was the withdrawal of last year’s winner Gary Jennings and Rory Kennedy while Adrian Hethrington bowed out on stage two.
