Brendan Boyce was named Overall Donegal Sports Star of the Year for 2019 at the Mount Errigal Hotel tonight.

The Milford man was recognised after finishing sixth in the 50k Race Walk at the World Championships in Doha in September.

Boyce fought off competition from Edyta Piechowicz, Leah Gallen, Michael Murphy, Patrick Boomer and Rhys Irwin, who were all shortlisted for the top award.
